Her time at Jamie's was full of drives and sight-seeing, and many visits to and from a wide circle of new friends whom she thoroughly enjoyed, and they appreciated her playing and singing and her fancy work. She helped as best she could with house work, cooking and babysitting, as Jamie and Hazel ran a Co-op store as well as Jamie's shift work at Porquis Airport with the Department of Transport. Church and related activities such as the Women's Auxiliary and bazaars and so on, took a lot of attention. She started music lessons, travelling into Monteith to take them, and would regularly go to a friend's home to practice on the piano there. ]

Dec 31: Good Bye to 1947 with its many ups and downs. Its joys and its troubles. I think I've conquered them tho' and may 1948 be a better year.
