MYETTE, Sophie Cecilia - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, Sophie Cecilia Myette, 78, Tracadie, Antigonish Co., who passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, February 28, 2004, with her family present. Born in Larry's River, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Richard) Avery. Sophie enjoyed people dropping in for a visit. She was always ready to play bingo or have a game of cards with friends and family. She liked knitting and quilting. She was a member of the Happy Tracadonians Seniors Club. She is survived by daughter, Margaret (Gary) Pellerin, Halifax; sons, Douglas, Dartmouth; Curtis (Mary), Fall River; Terry (Wenda), Linwood; sister, Janet Krul, Kitchener, Ont.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse; son, Edmund; sister, Lillian Dominey; brothers, Alphonse, Ernest and Moses; several brothers and sisters in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, Father John Barry officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
