AVERY, Michael Henry "Mike" - 86, Lundy, Guysborough Co., died Friday, September 12, 2003, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Lundy, he was a son of the late Anthony and Amelia (Richard) Avery. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River. Mike worked for 30 years in New Glasgow for MacGregor Bedding, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Margaret Avery; sons, Archie (Beulah), Kenneth (Jean), both of Lundy; daughter, Shirley Lundy; sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Henry Avery), Guysborough; Mildred Sanford, United States; Clara (Mrs. George Gerrior), Abbie (Mrs. John Levangie), both of Lundy; Mary (Mrs. Victor Decoste), New Glasgow; grandchildren, David, Antigonish; Julian (Angie), Larry's River; Nadine, Nicole, Kristina, all of Lundy; great-grandchildren, Jordon and Danika, Larry's River. He was predeceased by son, Michael; brothers, Irving, Wilson, John; half-brother, Clarence; sisters, Helen, Garnet, Maggie Jane. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Communities Along the Bay Multi-Use Facility Community Room. Funeral mass will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River, Father Will MacPherson officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital or St. Peter's Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Funeral services for the late Michael Henry "Mike" Avery, 86, Lundy, Guysborough County, were held September 15 in St. Peter's Church, Larry's River, with Father Will MacPherson officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Avery died September 12, 2003, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Lundy, he was a son of the late Anthony and Amelia (Richard) Avery.
