SYLVESTER VICTOR DeCOSTE

DeCOSTE, Sylvester Victor "Frére" - 91, R.K. MacDonald Guest Home, Antigonish, formerly of Port Felix, Guysborough Co., died Saturday, February 22, 2003, in the home. Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Louis and Martha (Richard) DeCoste. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Felix. In earlier years, he worked as a fisherman in the community. He resided with his nephew, Wilbert DeCoste, in Port Felix during his later years. He is survived by sisters, Beatrice Emmons, Elizabeth Bond, both of Port Felix; Agnes Wamback, Halifax; half-sister, Matilda Gaudet, Cape Breton. He was predeceased by brothers, Clement, Joseph; sisters, Ellen Bellefontaine and Mary Marr. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today, funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., both in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Felix, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Homes Ltd., Country Harbour. Funeral services for the late Sylvester Victor "Frére" DeCoste, 91, R.K. MacDonald Guest Home, Antigonish, formerly of Port Felix, Guysborough County, were held February 25 in St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, with Father Daniel Boudreau officiationg. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. DeCoste died February 22, 2003, in the home. Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Louis and Marthe (Richard) DeCoste. In earlier years he worked as a fisherman in the community. He resided with his nephew, Wilbert DeCoste, in Port Felix during his later years. He is survived by three sisters, Beatrice Emmons, Elizabeth Bond, both of Port Felix; Agnes Wamback, Halifax; half-sister, Matilda Gaudet, Cape Breton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clement, Joseph; two sisters, Ellen Bellefontaine, Mary Marr.
