ANNIE MURIEL DeRABBIE

DeRABBIE, Annie Muriel - 94, Hazel Hill, Guysborough Co., died Sunday, February 17, 2002, in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born September 11, 1907, in Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Muriel [sic*] (Snyder) Casey. Most of her life was lived in Hazel Hill. She was very involved in many community activities including Home and School, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46 Ladies Auxiliary and 4H Club. She was a member of Star of the Sea Parish, where she was involved with the CWL. She enjoyed lifetime hobbies of quilting, sewing and knitting. Annie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by daughters, Mary and husband Leslie Ryter, Antigonish; Rita Corkum, Hazel Hill; Betty Peddle, St. Margarets Bay; sons, John and wife Hazel, Gilmour, Ont.; Donald and wife Lori, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont.; sister, Effy Spears, Whitehead; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; son, William; brothers, Ernest, Howard, Dennis and Daniel; sisters, Blanche Rossong, Mary Hart. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery followed by a reception in Hazel Hill Fire Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Star of the Sea Parish or Cemetery Fund. Family requests no smoking during the visitation please.
