CASEY, Charlotte Veronica - 89, Northwood Manor, formerly of Dartmouth and Port Felix, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully in Northwood Manor, Sunday, May 6, 2001. Born November 23, 1911, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Catherine (George) King. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Wood Brothers, Eatons and The Lord Nelson Hotel. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and most of all spending her summers in Port Felix, her much loved family home. Surviving are daughters, Catherine "Kay" (Donald) Howard, Bedford; Joan (Arnold) DeBaie, DeBaie Cove; sons, Dennis (Evelyn), Bedford; Freeman (Ruth), Antigonish; Warren (Lorraine), Halifax; Gerald "Jerry" (Edna), River Bourgeois; Patrick "Pat" (Rita), Halifax; daughter-in-law, Teresa Casey, Saint John, N.B.; sister, Mary Pelrine, Rockingham; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Effie Spears, Whitehead, Guysborough Co.; Annie DeRabbie, Hazel Hill, Guysborough Co.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Dennis Stephen Casey; son, Earl; daughter, Shirley; sister, Venita Power; several nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Rev. Basil Carew officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church. Flowers welcomed. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
