      PEARL MAE PELLERIN

 

PELLERIN, Pearl Mae - Fairview Villa, formerly of Larrys River, Guysborough Co., passed away January 14, 1999, in the VG Site, QEII. She was the wife of the late Howard A. Pellerin, a well-known Guysborough County businessman. Born in Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Ellen (Bowie) Pitts. A graduate of Normal College, Truro, she taught school in various Guysborough County schools for many years. She was a former member of St. Peter's Parish, Larrys River, where she took an active role in church and community affairs. When she became sick in 1985, she moved to Bedford, where she lived with her daughter until ill health forced  her to enter the nursing home. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Brian Cormier), Toronto; Elaine Pellerin, Bedford; sons, Elliot (Sonny) and wife Helen, Larrys River; Gary and wife Margaret, Halifax; grandchildren, Nicole Atkinson and Jean Paul Cormier, Toronto; Andre and Pierre Pellerin, Halifax; a great-grandchild, Cassandra; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, George Pettipas, Elden Pettipas, Charlos Cove; Fordie Pitts, Hingham Mass.; Stanley Pitts, Dartmouth; sister, Blanche Cressy, Quincey, Mass. Visitation will be today, January 16, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, 3460 Dutch Village Road, Halifax. The remains will then be transferred to St. Peter's Church, Larrys River, where visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 18, at 11 a.m. in the church,
Archbishop Emeritus James M. Hayes officiating, Rev. Douglas Murphy assisting. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations may be made to Fairview Villa Residents Fund, 245 Main Ave., Halifax, NS B3M 1B7 or charity of your choice.
