HELEN ELIZABETH NAPIER

Helen Elizabeth Napier, Merigomish, Pictou County, died Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Lundy, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of Anthony Avery and the late Amelia (Richard) Avery. She was a member of St. Andrews Church, Egerton. Besides her father, she is survived by a son, Wilson Anthony Avery, Isaac's Harbour; six sisters, Mary DeCoste, New Glasgow; Clara (Mrs George Gerrior), Mrs Garnet Pettipas, Abbie (Mrs John LeVangie), Ethel (Mrs Henry Avery), all of Lundy; Mildred Sanford, Somerville, Mass.; two brothers, Michael Avery, Lundy; Irvin Avery, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael; two brothers, Simon Joseph and John Andrew; a sister, Margaret Jane. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in St. Andrew's Church, Egerton. Burial will be in the spring.

 
The New Glasgow Evening News, Wednesday, February 18, 1987 - MERIGOMISH - The largely attended funeral for Helen Elizabeth Napier, formerly of Merigomish, was held on Saturday, Feb. 14 in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Egerton. Communion was served at the service. Pallbearers were nephews Lloyd DeCoste, Parker DeCoste, Joe DeCoste and Clarence DeCoste, Danny Avery and Charlie Gerrior. Interment will be held in the spring.
