RICHARD, Theodore V.
RICHARD, Theodore V. - 87, Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., died Wednesday, September 15, 2004, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Veteran's Unit, Lunenburg. Born in Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Vincent and Mary Richard. He served with the Merchant Marine during the Second World War and spent many happy years working with the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, traveling around the Maritime provinces. He was a founding and lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 117, Torbay. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by sons, Greg, British Columbia; Darrin (David), Sydney; daughters, Irene (Kevin), Monica, both of Lunenburg; Donelda, Halifax; granddaughters, Amanda and Jessica. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Richard; brothers, Harold, Lester; sisters, Rita, Lavina, Alice, and Eva. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 12 p.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church (corner of Russell and Gottingen streets), Halifax, with his ashes to be interred in Charlos Cove at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veteran's Unit of Fishermen's Memorial Hospital through Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
