WALLACE, Mary Florence
WALLACE, Mary Florence - 72, Whitehead, Guysborough Co., died January 26, 2004, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Merland, she moved to Afton at an early age. She was a daughter of the late James Edward and Anna Theresa (Dailey) Wallace. In her earlier years she was employed at St. F X University, but spent the greater part of her life caring for her blind mother. She moved from Afton to Whithead about 20 years ago, where she ran a successful small farming business. She became well-known and dearly loved by everyone who patronized the ambitious entrepreneur. Surviving are brothers, Raymond Sr., Antigonish; Edmond, Novoa, Ont.; sisters, Kay Chisholm, Antigonish; Margaret Bray, Copper Lake; Grace Dort, Antigonish. She is also survived by 38 nieces and nephews and long-standing good friends, James Grover and Raymond Wallace Jr. She was predeceased by brothers, James Vincent and William John; sisters, Helen Blair and Marcella Frances. Visitation will be held today from 4-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Further visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, Rev. John Barry officiating. Burial in St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery, Merland, at a later date.
