AVERY, Howard George
AVERY, Howard George - 73, Waltham, Mass., and formerly of Larry's River, Guysborough Co., died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in Waltham Hospital, Massachusetts. Born in Larry's River, he was a son of the late Clement and Emily (Richard) Avery. He was a Korean War veteran having served with the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement he worked for many years as a truck driver with Canada Dry Beverages. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence LeBlanc; sisters, Eileen (Robert) Briand, Windsor, Ont.; brothers, Wilfred (Gloria) and Earl (Laura), both of Larry's River; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Christina Pellerin and Theresa Burns; brother, Paul. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, both in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River, Father Will MacPherson officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Homes Ltd., Country Harbour.
