JOHN EDWARD PHALEN

Father of Local Men Dies in Hospital
WHITEHEAD-
JOHN EDWARD PHALEN, of this Guys.Co., community died Tuesday ,19 March,1957, at Camp Hill Hospital after a long illness. He was 79 and had been a fisherman all his adult life until he was stricken last September. He is survived by his wife, the former Eliza Feltmate, a daughter, Lillian,at home; 4 sons, William and Jamie, at home; John and Harry in New Glasgow; 21 grandchildren,6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs.Charles Dobson and Mrs. Daniel Fitzgerald, both of New Glasgow. The remains were forwarded from the Halifax Funeral Home to his former residence at Whitehead, where they will rest pending funeral arrangements.
