PERCY LEWIS MUNROE

MUNROE, Percy Lewis - 79, Seaside Manor, Canso, Guysborough Co., formerly of Whitehead, Guysborough Co., died June 7, 1997, in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Whitehead, he was a son of the late Lauden and Violet (Fitzgerald) Munroe. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War. He spent most of his working life as a commercial fisherman and was also a part-time painter in Halifax. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Felix. Surviving are brothers, Reginald, Russell, Whitehead; Gerald, Dartmouth; half-brother, John, Lynn, Mass.; sister, Margaret Whynacht, Lunenburg; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, William Burns; half-brothers, Hughie, Lawrence; half-sister, Tina Ruggles. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, both in St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, Rev. Dwaine Deveraux officiating. Burial in parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Seaside Manor, Canso, or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
