MAMIE ELIZABETH DORT

DORT, Mamie Elizabeth - 81, Cole Harbour, Guysborough County, died June 4, 1994, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Guysborough. Born at Cole Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Caleb and Eva Belle (Uloth) Myers. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Felix and the ladies auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion, Tor Bay Branch 117. She is survived by five daughters, Anne (Mrs. Ernest Avery), Vickie (Mrs. Leonard Avery), both of Larrys River; Gladie (Mrs. Claude Sangster), New Harbour; Isabel (Mrs. Francis Bond), Port Felix; Maisie (Mrs. Al Claybourne), Raleigh, N.C.; five sons, Albert, Stewiacke; Harold, Canso; James, Calgary, Alta.; David, Cole Harbour; Walter, Lower Sackville; sister, Ruby (Mrs. Covert Gammon), Tor Bay; 35 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfonso James; son, Donald; sister, Beatrice; twin brothers in infancy; two grandsons, Terrance Avery, one in infancy; three great-grandchildren, Danielle Avery, Michelle Lombarde, Adam Dort. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday in the family residence in Cole Harbour. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, Rev. Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Parish Building Fund or any charity. Arrangements are under the direction of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
