Jennie Murphy dies at age 100

LARRY'S RIVER - Mrs. Jennie Murphy, 100, of Larry's River died Monday at home. Born in Larry's River, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Telena (Avery) Gerrior. She was a member of St. Peter's Parish and was Larry's River's oldest resident. Surviving are four daughters, Nina and Ethel, both at home; Mrs. Johanna Doiron, Port Royal, Richmond County, and Margaret, Saint John; three sons, Raymond, Larry's River; Vincent, Brantford Ont, and Michael, Cambridge, Mass; a sister, Mrs. Cecelia Pitts, Halifax; a brother, Benjamin, New Glasgow; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William, two sons, John and Alonzo, four brothers and five sisters. The body is in the family home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Church, Larry's River, her grandson, Rev. Douglas Murray, officiating, with burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Peter's Cemetery Fund.
