MARY IRENE PELRINE

PELRINE, Mary Irene - 84, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2000, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Port Felix, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Fougere) David. A lifelong resident of Halifax, she was the owner of Irene's Grocery on Maitland Street and was a devoted member of St. Patrick's and St. Agnes' Parishes. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Fekeshazy (Alex), Halifax; sons, William (Cathy), Timberlea; Phil (Helena), Halifax; Earl (Patsy), Halifax; brother, Thomas, Port Felix; sisters, Edna David, Halifax; Dorothy Benoit, Pomquet; Anita Amirault, Manchester, N.H.; grandchildren, Charlene Fekeshazy, Arlene Sibley, Walter Fekeshazy (Sherri), Billy, Kimberlea, Brian, Karla, Kevin and David Pelrine; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Paul Sibley, Jessica Fekeshazy. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Pelrine; brothers, Rev. Gerald, Alphonse and Elzear David; grandson, David William Pelrine. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, May 22, and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Halifax. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, in St. Patrick's Church, Brunswick Street, Halifax, Rev. Gerald David officiating, assisted by Rev. Lloyd O'Neill and Rev. John Mills. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
