ARTHUR B. PITTS

Arthur B. Pitts. 78, of 2688 Fern Street, Halifax, died Sunday at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Larry's River, Guysborough County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Manette) Pitts. He worked for the Nova Scotia Power Corporation for 33 years. He was a former member of the Halifax Rifles and the oldest life member of the Windsor Park Seageant's Mess. Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Laybolt; two sons, Brian, Beaverbank; and Dermott, Richmond, BC; three daughters, Sheila (Mrs. Barry Moore), Middle Sackville; Christine, Richmond, BC, and Lynn, at home; two brothers, Charles, New Glasgow, and Alfred, Larry's River; two grandsons and two granddaughters. The body is at Snow's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Halifax, Rev. Calvin Pretty officiating. Internment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Heart Foundation.
