EVANGELINE MARY AVERY

AVERY, Evangeline Mary - 83, Larrys River, Guysborough Co., died February 21, 1997, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Larrys River, she was a daughter of the late Simon J. and Sophia (Avery) Pellerin. She attended school at Our Lady of Assumption Convent, Arichat, and was a longtime choir member in la paroisse St. Pierre, Larrys River. An active member of her community, she served on Larrys River Home and School Association, the Picnic Committee and was a regular canvasser for a number of charitable organizations. Surviving are daughters, Beulah (Mrs. Peter MacPhee), Antigonish; Roma (Mrs. Byron Kennedy), St. Margarets Bay; sons, Carman, Guysborough; Jude, Larrys River; brother, Percy J. Pellerin; stepsister, Mrs. Mabel Pellerin, both of Larrys River; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; infant son, Maurice; infant sister, Charlotte; brothers, Alphonzo, Ernest. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, funeral 3 p.m. Sunday, all in St. Peter's Church, Larrys River, Rev. Dwaine Devereaux officiating. Burial in parish cemetery. Donations to Guysborough Memorial Hospital fund, Larrys River Cemetery fund or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
