JOHN LAWRENCE AVERY

AVERY, John Lawrence - Swan Creek, N.B., died July 9, 1997, in Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, N.B. Born at Larrys River, he was a son of Josephine (Fougere) Avery, Oromocto, and the late Alfee Avery. He was employed for many years with the Canadian Armed Forces and later with the RCMP as a civilian member with the telecommunications division. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Atlantic Korean War Veterans' Association; Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 93, Oromocto; Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Boyd Chapter 6774; Ham Radio Association; Fredericton Amateur Radio Club, and RAC Section Manager-Maritimes. Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Nazaruk; children, Josephine A. Leroux, Dinna L. Avery, Robert A., Shirley L. (Mrs. Larry Morley), Ontario; Patrick S., Swan Creek; Jeffrey R., Ontario; three grandchildren; an uncle in Antigonish; nieces and nephews. Funeral was held July 14 in St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Oromocto, Rev. Don Savoie officiated. Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home.
