Cashen, John William -- 88, Northwood Manor, Halifax, died March 8, 1994, in the manor. Born in Port Felix, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Steven and Angeline (Levangie) Cashen. He worked in the construction industry for many years before retirement.  He is survived by a son, Nelson, Dartmouth; daughter, Cecile, Montreal; a granddaughter; brother, Alex. He was predeceased by a son, Bernard. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Port Felix.  Donations may be made to the Izaak Walton Killam Children's Hospital or the palliative care unit of Northwood Manor.
