WILLIAM BASIL RICHARD


RICHARD, William Basil -- 70, Charlos Cove, Guysborough County, passed away September 15th 1996, at Guysborough Memorial Hospital.  Born at Charlos Cove, he was a son of the late Simon and Mabel [Levangie] Richard.  He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and one of the founding members of the Island View Volunteer Fire Department, having served as captain for over 17 years.  Surviving are his wife, Ethel, Charlos Cove; daughter, Aldona and husband Fabian Gerrior, Guysborough; sons, Val and fiance Marlene Moore, Arnold and fiance Georgina  Richardson, Winston and wife Dianne, all of Charlos Cove; Darrell and fiance Stella Gerrior, Lower Sackville; brother, Jerome and wife Vina, Halifax; nephew, and Wallace and wife Betty, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Prescott, Sheldon, and Joshua, Sandy, Travis, Tyler, Sarah; step granddaughter, Holly.  He was predeceased by daughter, Corrine; sister, Dora Pettipas.  Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, both in St. Joseph's Church, Charlos Cove, Rev. P. J. Baccardax officiating.  Burial in parish cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to G. W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
