| PELLERIN, Russell 
        James - 66, Antigonish, died peacefully March 19, 1998, in St. Martha's 
        Regional Hospital, Antigonish, following a brief illness. Born in Larrys 
        River, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Percy 
        and Elizabeth (Fougere) Pellerin. A graduate of 
        Provincial Normal College and St. Francis Xavier University, he was a 
        well-known teacher and administrator in the Antigonish County school system. 
        He retired in 1990 from l'Ecole de Pomquet where he was a teacher/principal 
        in French Immersion. Throughout his life he maintained an active involvement 
        in professional and community activities, including Antigonish Minor Hockey 
        Association, Nova Scotia Teachers Union, Knights of Columbus, St. Ninian's 
        Parish Council and St. Martha's Palliative Care. He was on the board of 
        directors of the Bergengren Credit Union, Antigonish Food Bank and St. 
        Vincent de Paul Society. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Catherine 
        (M.C.) MacDonald; daughters, Anne Marie, Halifax; Elaine (Michael) Tobin, 
        North Sydney; son, Richard (Elaine Mac-Eachern), London, Ont.; grandson, 
        Simon Pellerin; brothers, Basil (Grayce), Carroll, Gordon (Mary), Blair 
        (Joanne), Larrys River; sister, Isabelle Heine, Peterborough, Ont. Visitation 
        will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 
        Antigonish. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Ninian's Cathedral, 
        Antigonish, Rev. Bill Crispo officiating. Burial at a later date in St. 
        Ninian's Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations to St. 
        Vincent de Paul Society or Antigonish Food Bank.  |
