MRS. BERNARD CASHIN

 

PORT FELIX - Funeral service was held here recently for Mrs. Bernard Cashin from St. Joseph's Church, with Rev. H. J. McNeil officiating.
Mrs. Cashin died at St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish, after an illness of several months.  Born in Port Felix in 1892, she was the daughter of the late Pascal Pellerine and Mary Victoria Bellefountaine.  She worked for Port Felix Co-operative Limited for 30 years, retiring two years ago due to failing health.
She was also organist in St. Joseph's Church for 45 years, and was an active church member.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Stanley; four daughters, Velda (Mrs. Francis Cashin), Victoria (Mrs. Charles Fitzpatrick), Eileen (Mrs. Placide King) and Theresa (Mrs. Dennis Hicks). Two sons, Donald and Paul died several years ago.
She is also survived by one sister, Clara Cashin; one brother, Stephen Pellerine and a half-brother, Paul Pellerine; and by 29 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
